On Saturday morning (March 20) we decided to take your walking tour of the city. We paid our fee and were informed that our tour guide would be Dela. After spending about two and a half hours with her and the rest of our group, we found ourselves near Rita's, on St. Philip, where we had intended to have lunch, so we split off from the pack without having the opportunity to express our thanks to either Dela or to your organization.

Let me take this opportunity to do just that. Thank you all for giving us a delightful morning in your beautiful city. Dela was most informative, cordial, and, perhaps most importantly, welcoming to us. We found her tour to be the highlight of our visit. You are blessed with living in one of the most interesting and friendly cities that we have ever visited, and Dela truly epitomizes the best of New Orleans.

Gentlemen:

Just wanted to take a moment to give you some feedback on your Cabildo Walking Tour. We were in your fine city earlier this month and only had 24 hours to get a glimpse of New Orleans.

We stayed at the Grenoble Hotel and I picked up your brouchure from their front desk. We wanted to take a tour but didn't know which to try -- they suggested yours. And, I'm so glad that they did.

Our guide was Manuel Salas. I cannot praise him enough. He was the reason we so enjoyed New Orleans and are planning to return. His love of the city and his personal knowledge about the French Quarter made the city come alive -- with people and history. He pointed sout so many house museums that a return trip is absolutely necessary. We want to learn about all the history he presented to us.

Your tour is wonderful -- offering the historical view of the city -- including the politics, architecture and past residents. Manuel not only gave us all of the history but also pointed out restaurants and places of interest that we might want to try during our stay. His tour was interesting, humorous and filled with the flavor of New Orleans.

Congratulations on a wonderful volunteer program -- and thank you to Manuel Salas for making New Orleans come alive for us.
